DRESS CODE

General Dance Wear Information

RDS dancers should come to the studio dressed for class and shoes will be put on in the classroom. Hair is required to be pulled off the face in a ponytail or bun and ages 9 and up should wear a neat bun for ballet class. No bulky or dangling jewelry allowed.

Requirements by Dance Class:

Ballet

Any type of black leotard, pink footed or convertible tights (dark skinned dancers may choose to wear matching skin tone tights), pink ballet shoes.

Ballet skirts are acceptable, no tutus.

Lyrical

Any type of black leotard, pink or matching skin tone footless or convertible tights (footless will be required for recital), barefoot or Foot Undeez/Sole Shield half sole shoes, black jazz shorts/leggings/pants optional.

Tap

Any type of black leotard, pink or matching skin tone tights (footed or convertible), black tap shoes (ages 7 & up should have black leather lace up tap shoes), black jazz shorts/leggings/pants optional.

Jazz

Any type of black leotard, pink or matching skin tone tights (footed or convertible), tan slip on jazz shoes, black jazz shorts/leggings/pants optional.

Hip-Hop

Any comfortable shorts/shirt and clean sneakers

REVOLUTION DANCEWEAR STORE

Our Revolution dance store contains a list of preferred shoes (except tap) and preferred tights. We will be using Revolution Color Flow tights for our recital this year.

Revolution offers tights in many different skin tones – please select the ones that match your dancer’s skin the best. Samples are available at the Front Desk. They offer all types of great dancewear to shop for as well and support RDS!
