ABOUT US

We offer classes for boys and girls, ages 3 to adult, in ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, lyrical, hip hop, contemporary, ballet technique and leaps & turns. We have been in the business of teaching and developing dancers for 50 years!

Our studio is dedicated to providing the very best in dance technique instruction in a family oriented, inclusive, supportive and non-competitive environment. Our goal is to instill a love of dance in all of our students that will last a lifetime, providing an outlet for expression and increasing their self esteem.

Meet our Staff

Melanie (Stinson) Pedé

Since 2000, Melanie has been teaching ballet, tap and jazz at Robin’s Dance Studio and obtained the business from Robin Kelley upon her retirement in 2007. She danced for Robin from the age of 6 through high school, participating in the junior and senior competition companies.

She was a member of the Dulles Dolls drill team and a lieutenant her senior year, earning several division 1 solo ratings, choreography awards, and 6th place in the Miss Drill Team Texas competition. She has 2 adult daughters, Kelsey and Krista, who grew up dancing at the studio as well. She is thrilled to be able to work doing something she loves, and she loves sharing this love of dance with her students!

Cindy Williams

Cindy has been teaching at RDS for over 15 years. She also teaches dance in 7 locations in Houston and the surrounding areas, including Ann Moody Sill Dance Studio and Cypress Elite Dance Studio. She is the Director and Choreographer of dance at the Alief Family YMCA, The Club at New Territory, Grace Presbyterian, and the Langham Creek YMCA.

Miss Cindy has had numerous years of experience instructing young students through high school and adults. She has experience instructing ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, pointe, cheer/Pom.

Katherine Langston

Katherine lives in the Sugar Land area and is a former Robins Dancer, where she competed in the Apprentice, Junior, and Senior Companies at the studio.  In high school she was the Captain of the Austin Angels and while studying at Texas A&M University she was an officer in Dance Arts Society, a student-run dance organization that choreographed and performed bi-annual dance shows.

She teaches Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Lyrical, and Contemporary at Robins, as well as choreographs solos, duets, and trios for competitions across the state.  She loves dancing at Robins and is overjoyed to teach at such a wonderful and creative studio!

Kalyssa Noelle Lauer

Miss Kalyssa grew up in Missouri City and began dancing at the age of 2. Following in her mother’s footsteps, she began dancing at Robin’s Dance Studio, training in all styles, and competed with the RDS Junior and Senior Company teams. At the age of 12, she started choreographing her own award-winning solos and soon began choreographing duets and other group dances.

Kalyssa has had the opportunity to work with and receive training from various famous dancers and choreographers such as Chachi Gonzales, Kyle Hanagami, Brian Friedman, Les Twins, and many others. She was a part of many performances with Planet Funk Academy and competed at World of Dance with Riot Squad (Soundbox Studios). Additionally, Kalyssa was the Captain of the Elkins Elite Dance Team for both her junior and senior years of high school.

Following graduation, she attended Theater Arts Preparatory School in Las Vegas, where she trained with professional dancers, singers, and actors in preparation for the professional performance world. Most recently, she worked as a character performer and dancer at Cedar Point Amusement Park where she found great joy in performing for kids and adults of all ages!

Kalyssa is currently a student and part of the Buggy Beauties at the University of Houston studying business. She is looking forward to another great year of teaching at RDS!
